Hurricane Irene, Landfall

Hurricane Irene was such a huge storm it covered the Mid Atlantic and Northeast U.S., from South Carolina to Maine.

When Hurricane Irene hit the U.S. East Coast, it was such a big storm, the sweep of it touched simultaneously from South Carolina to Maine. By Tuesday, Tropical Storm Irene was entering into Canada and was forecast to retain tropical storm strength as it approached Greenland and Iceland later this week.
