As the California legislature prepares to vote on banning plastic bags, an unusual group of protesters invaded San Francisco; they are know as Bag Monsters. Each wearing 500 plastic bags, the number of plastic bags a typical American uses in one year, these "monsters" are supporting the plastic bag ban in California. After their California protest they began on a national journey and plan to invade 15 cities that are considering implementing bag ban legislation. Lead "monster," Andy Keller, said, "My goal during this journey is to raise awareness of the tremendous impact that plastic bags have on the environment."
