Several accidents occurred in this place. Even though the authorities took precaution for this atmospheric event, the imprudence of some people made the accidents occur. One person of Haitian nationality got too close to the reefs and a powerful wave, (as the one you can see in this photograph), dragged him to sea, and the man drowned. Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic at El Malecon 8/19/01.
