This new psychedelic gecko species was discovered this past year on Hon Khoai Island in the Mekong River region of Southern Vietnam, where conservation organizations like WWF say new species have been discovered at the rate of one every two days.

This gecko, according to WWF, "is unique in that it displays a remarkable psychedelic pattern of bright orange appendages; a dense, yellow neck overlying thick, black, lines; and a blue-gray body bearing yellow bars on its bright-orange sides."

It's as rare as it is unique, given that it inhabits only the 5-square mile forested island.
