Pneumonia is the latest scourge for this Central Asian wild goat, the markhor, according to Wildlife Conservation Society.

Impressive for their corkscrew-horns and their incredible climbing ability in rugged mountains, markhor are endangered. It's thought that fewer than 2,500 exist in the wild, and the Tajikistan pneumonia outbreak claimed as much as 20% of that nation's markhor population. The disease may have spread from nearby goat herds.
