Cowbirds are nest parasites. Cowbirds will lay eggs in other birds' nests, and then leave their young to be raised by the neighbors, to the exclusion of the host birds' own nestlings. This photo shows the adolescent cowbirds, having already outgrown the little common yellowthroat, still mooching a meal.
