Catching the Sun at Bird Rock

Share
Five years ago, we used to hike one of three public paths in Bird Rock, just south of La Jolla, CA, to reach outlook points that had unobstructed views of the sunset. When we returned this month, after having been gone for a year, we found that only one path was available--the other two were gone due to excessive erosion. I was saddened because we wanted to share one of our favorite places with our 6-year-old...and I wonder if anything will be available in Bird Rock when we return next year. 2008
