BP Gulf Oil Spill
On April 20th an explosion of the Transocean Deepwater Horizon rig killed 11 people and led to the BP oil spill. Government scientists estimated that nearly five million barrels of oil flowed into the Gulf of Mexico, making it among the largest in history.
