Fires, Droughts and a Blooming Magnolia Tree

Weird Weather This Morning on Broadway

Weird Weather Witnesses We Need You!

So, I’m going to talk about the weird weather around the world. It's weird. Wildfires are burning down homes in California and hurricane Noel could be crashing into a coast near you. All summer monsoons put people out of their homes across south Asia, and right here in New York City today, a magnolia tree blooming on Broadway. And just when I thought it was safe to break out my winter coat.

And I need your help. Send your photos. My plan is to show you “my backyard weather” photo every week (today I've featured those crazy magnolias), because Weird Weather Watch is not just about the the huge weather events -- though we want your photos of those, too, if you find yourself at a weird weather ground zero. But this photoblog is also about the small things that make people think, and worry, about global warming. Like those magnolia trees. Those are the photos and thoughts we want at The Daily Green. Why? Taken together, all those small events are as big as a monsoon, as big as a wildfire.
