Eight times a year some 600 people get together in 45 individual groups in the New York City area, Boston and Florida, as part of Gotham City Networking. There's also a dedicated Gotham Green group, spearheaded by Gail Koelln. This year, the group has honored community leaders through the inaugural Gotham Green Awards, which they hope will help inspire others to take a greener parth.
Winners include the Electronic Music Foundation, which is working to promote environmental awareness through sound art, Sustainable South Bronx, a leading advocate for environmental justice and education in one of the lowest-income parts of the region, and Greenstreet Construction, an area leader in green building.
