If There Were No Limits, How Would You Change the World?

Good magazine and Babelgum invite readers to envision a greener planet. Imogen Heap kicks off the contest.

What happens when a hip magazine partners with a hip video website? Find out through the Big Ideas series, put on by GOOD and Babelgum.

The series is a fun idea that will hopefully get some creative juices flowing around the net. The challenge is to "ask artists, inventors and thinkers one simple question: If there weren't any pesky practical limitations, what world-changing device would you invent?" The first response is by talented British songstress Imogen Heap (yes that really is her birth name). See it below.

Make like Imogen and compose your own video outlining your big idea. GOOD will select one submission to animate and feature on their site and on Babelgum. The winner will also get to program Babelgum's Our Earth channel for the month of October. (Remember their cool video about the urban dumpster swimming pool? The deadline for submission is August 26. Details here.

GOOD continues to make waves as an innovative publication, with founder Ben Goldhirsh giving away all subscription revenue to charities (to the tune of $800,000 so far). The title maintains a positive, progressive voice, and has experimented with alternative pricing models. Instead of hiring industry insiders, Goldhirsh built his award-winning team by hiring his friends, who include Al Gore III. They're definitely a team to watch as the media landscape continues its rapid evolution into the digital age.
