There's admittedly a strong hint of site promotion here on the part of Cell Phones.org, which, in fact, sells cell phones (it isn't nonprofit, despite the .org, in a practice that is legit and increasingly common). But it's also true that most award competitions, and even ceremonies, have an element of self-promotion (heck, look at the Oscars!). So I'm not above pointing out to my readers that this blog has been nominated for Cell Phones.org's 2009 Blogger Appreciation Contest.

Voting is a snap: just go to the link above and click on my name (unless of course you prefer any of the other bloggers listed, which is your choice). First place winner gets a year of reimbursed cell phone bills, second gets a free phone, and third gets a gift certificate to spend on Cell Phones.org -- and perhaps more importantly, some Internet bragging rights.
Hey, it's nice to be nominated for something (I didn't put myself up, I swear!). It's not exactly a Pulitizer (like a former professor won) or even a Webby (like a former classmate won). But you gotta start somewhere
As of this writing I have exactly one vote (full disclosure: I voted for myself). I'm getting creamed, but am not in totally last place, yes!
So go vote, and don't forget to recycle your used cell phones and other electronics! Let's get the toxic waste out of the environment (and recover useful materials).
