Angry Green Girl Is "Hot, Green and Shameless"

New Website offers green social networking, tips, news -- and above all attitude.

Nobody said environmentalists never have a sense of humor, and a brand new website takes that point a bit further. Angry Green Girl launched today, so I browsed on over to the site billed as "tough-talking hot girls giving green tips with an in-your-face take on the environment."

The production values are high, both in terms of the site itself and the videos (which don't seem to be embeddable, bummer). Angry Green Girl features green product reviews, message boards, social networking, polls, tips, a newsletter, blogs and a Digg-like voting system, in which users "recycle" articles they like. I haven't had time to check out the social media features yet but I'll let you know. Browsers are encouraged to "build your page, meet the green girl or guy you've been dreaming about and fix up the damn planet."

Oh, and about those videos, they feature Angry Green Girl and her similarly made-up friends talking tough on going green. Here's a sample line from the alpha Angry Girl herself:

"For those of you who have somehow managed to parlay your geeky talents into making money, go out and buy your appliances with the energy star seal. They use way less energy and will save you money, to buy me more shoes."

Fellas, also take note that the blonde Angry Green Girl Jessica lists tequila as her fave song and beverage. Organic agave anyone?

There's no doubt that the green tips are solid. Yes, but is it hot you ask? Depends on your taste I think. I've never been super into the whole high-maintenance, LA Girl look, and these girls definitely seem high maintenance. Course some would argue that our planet is as well.

Will Angry Green Girl transform an army of BDSM-seeking webheads into green warriors? Or get Jersey Bros to unplug their cell phone chargers? It's hard to say, but we'll definitely keep watching. For research purposes, of course.

By the way, Los Angeles drivers -- if they drive hybrids -- were treated to a waterless, eco-friendly car wash earlier today, by bikini-clad models, kicking off the launch of the website. As anyone who has seen an 80's movie knows, anything can be accomplished with some rockin' tunes and a bikini car wash. Maybe even global warming.
