Must-See Earth Week TV

Sure, it's probably a better idea to venture outdoors for some fun Earth Week activities this week, but if you find yourself playing couch potato and channel surfing, check out some of these inspired eco programs from our cable/network friends.

Animals Distract Me
Leading the lineup Planet Green (where every day is Earth Day) is the premiere of Isabella Rossellini's latest effort, Animals Distract Me on Saturday, April 24. Other premieres that day include Force of Nature, featuring iconic scientist David Suzuki; Stories from the Gulf, a special presentation of NRDC; and Hip Hop Rev, about activist Reverend Lennox Yearwood.

Twice a year, NBCUniversal delivers environmentally themed content across all its multiple platforms. To help celebrate this year's Earth Day theme — reuse — The Today Show's Kathie Lee and Hoda Kobt select a finalist for The Art of ReUse Contest.

Changing Planet
The Weather Channel and Tom Brokaw host the first of three town hall events where university students talk to leading climate scientists and environmental leaders about the dynamics and impact of climate change, April 22 (9 PM ET).

Attack of the Show
G4's Attack of the Show spotlights eco-friendly gadgets, from solar backpacks to human powered chargers. They'll show a Japanese car that travels 206 miles on a single charge and a Green Map iPhone app that connects people of the green movement. "X-play" will show gamers ways to game green.

Access Hollywood
Access Hollywood has plans for a special earth-themed weekend show featuring eco-conscious celebrities.

Arthur
PBS is airing five new episodes of Arthur to highlight environmental protection, cultural awareness and teamwork. Online, kids can take the Go Green Challenge, teaming up with one of their favorite Arthur characters to work on a green cause.
