Small is Beautiful for Tomorrow's Cars

These small rides must get great gas mileage!


In Europe last month, sales of Mercedes cars dropped 34.2%, but there was one bright spot -- tiny Smart Cars. Registrations of new Smarts was up 0.6%.

Small is beautiful. And imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. The Smart gets 33 mpg in the city and 41 on the highway, and consumers hear the call.

Other automakers are apparently visiting Tinytown, The Daily Green has learned, and our, um, spy photos prove what's going on in the top-secret skunkworks. Here are some cars you might see in showrooms later in the year...:
