Toilet Seat and Holiday Figurines Have Lead Paint

Two More Products Recalled

A study has linked lead to attention deficit disorder.

Two more children's products have been added to the long list of products that have been recalled this year because they contain lead paint. Here's information from the Consumer Product Safety Commission about each:

The First Years 3-in-1 Flush and Sounds Potty Seats imported and distributed by RC2 Corp. of Oak Brook, Ill.

About 160,000 of the toilet seats, made in China, have been recalled because the decorative plaque inserted into the back of the potty seat could have orange paint that contains excessive levels of lead. Each seat has either a yellow chair with a green removable seat and a purple lift out-pot or a blue chair with a white removable seat and green lift out-pot. The words "100 Acre Wood" are molded on the chair back. The plaque inserted into the back of the seat contains molded Winnie the Pooh and Tigger characters.

They were sold at mass and specialty retailers nationwide from April 2006 through August 2007 for between $20 and $25.

Plastic holiday snowmen and bear figurinessold at Home Depot for between $10 and $20.

About 64,000 holiday figurines manufactured in China by Creative Design of Hong Kong and imported and sold by Home Depot across the country, have lead paint on their plastic bodies. These items are included in the recall, identified by SKU number printed on the bottom of the product:
1. Holiday Bear Door Greeter: 17" x 16" (894-825)
2. Snowman with "Let it Snow" Sign: Tabletop item (894-893)
3. Three Snowmen with "Joy" Sign: 13" x 17" (898-964)
4. Snowman Votive Holder: 7.5" x 7.5" (967-467)
