This "oatmeal" is made with crumbled matzo.
Recipe courtesy of The Jew and the Carrot.
SERVINGS
2-3
INGREDIENTS
4 matzo sheets, crumbled well
1 cup milk
1/4 cup water
1/4 of an apple, chopped
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup chopped toasted walnuts or pecans
1/4 cup raisins
maple syrup
PREPARATION
1. Place crumbled matzo and apples in a medium sauce pan. Add milk and water and bring to a boil over high heat (matzah should be just submerged in liquid).
2. Once boiling, lower to medium-high heat, add cinnamon and stir continuously until the mixture thickens. When your oatmeal reaches your desired consistency, remove from heat and stir in nuts, raisins and maple syrup. Serve hot.
