INGREDIENTS
1 cup walnuts, shelled
2 tablespoons bread crumbs
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1/2 teaspoon (pomegranate) molasses
2 tablespoons olive oil
8 phyllo pastry sheets
PREPARATION
1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Roughly crush the walnuts in a mortar or a blender. Add the bread crumbs, garlic, molasses, and oil, mix well and season.
3. Cut the phyllo pastry into 4-inch squares and use two layers of pastry for each square. Place a spoonful of filling along one edge of each square and fold in the sides.
4. Place on a greased baking sheet and bake in the middle of a hot oven until golden, approximately 10 minutes. Serve with a green salad.
