DeLoach Vineyards Pinot Noir Rosé

As fine a summer wine as one could ask for, the DeLoach Vineyards Pinot Noir Rosé is bright and fruity, but with some hints of spice (and not one hint of candy that turns off so many would-be drinkers of rosés). DeLoach describes it as having "vibrant notes of juicy strawberry and ambrosial honeysuckle (that) open to cranberry and mulberry flavors on the palate, the perfect marriage between fruit and spice." DeLoach Vineyards, known for its pinot noir, fills 13 acres in California's Russian River Valley, where the landscape has been undergoing a conversion to organic cultivation since the Boisset family moved from Burgundy, France, and bought the vineyard in 2003. The 2010 vintages are certified Biodynamic and the rosé is the first to hit stores. ($20)
