A week after a big recall of Little Bear Brand leafy greens, root vegetables and herbs, salmonella contamination is prompting a related recall.
Boncheff Greenhouses, of Toronto, is issuing a voluntary recall on cilantro, curly parsley, and Italian parsley sold and distributed in New York and Pennsylvania between Dec. 14 and Dec. 28, including to Wegmans Food Markets throughout New York (except Corning, Elmira, Ithaca and Johnson City) and to two stores in Erie, Pa.
Salmonella often causes nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever and abdominal pain; those with weakened immune systems, and the very young and old, are most at risk for more serious or even deadly infections.
The recalled products include these Wegmans brand .25-ounce poly sleeve herb packs:
