Taylor Farms Recalls a Dozen Types of Salad Mixes

Thousands of cases of salads sold in 14 states and Puerto Rico are being recalled.

Taylor Farms Retail Inc. is recalling 3,265 cases of salad mixes that could be contaminated with salmonella.

The salads were distributed in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Puerto Rico and sold in various retail supermarkets.

Salmonella can cause serious illness or death, particularly in the very old or young, and those with weakened immune systems; healthy people often experience symptoms like fever, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain and diarrhea. See your doctor if you experience symptoms like these after having eaten fresh salads.

Consumers are urged to dispose of the recalled salads without eating them, preferably by sealing them in tamper-proof containers and throwing them in the trash. For more information, call 1-877-323-7374.
