As summer winds to an end and the kids head back to school, everyone's days will be getting busier. That doesn't mean delicious, home-cooked meals can't still fit into your schedule though. The folks over at NoTakeOut have devised a system of "game plans" (not simply recipes) to make sure your hectic schedule doesn't keep you from eating well. Each day's meal comes with a shopping list that you can get through the express checkout lane with, a plan for putting the meal together and even suggestions for dessert. The idea is simple and the name says it all – instead of reaching for that stack of takeout menus, give NoTakeOut a try for a week and get back to enjoying quality time and quality food with your family.

We've put together a week's worth of dinners from NoTakeOut for you to try. If you prefer having the freshest ingredients, we suggest making a quick stop at the grocery store every day. If, however, you want to stock up on everything for the week ahead of time, here's what you’ll need:

grocery list

Fruits, Vegetables and Herbs:
3 avocados
3 lemons
1 lime
3 large heads crisp lettuce
2 large, ripe mangos
2 scallions
1 inch fresh ginger
1 jalapeno
2 bunches basil
1 bunch parsley
1 1/2 pounds new potatoes
1 pound yams or sweet potatoes
1 pound russet potatoes
2 large ears corn
2 shallots
1 1/2 pounds eggplant
2 pounds ripe tomatoes
1 pound small zucchini
1 green bell pepper
1 large yellow onion
1 bunch fresh thyme
1 bunch flat leaf (Italian) parsley

Meat, Poultry and Seafood:
4 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 pound cleaned shrimp in shells
1 pound clams
12 ounces hot Italian sausage
24 ounce snapper filet

Dairy:
12 ounces fresh mozzarella
Sour cream

Bread:
One loaf crusty bread
12 flour tortillas
One crusty baguette
1 package unbaked pizza dough

Other:
Crab or shrimp boil seasoning (we like Zatarains or Old Bay)
1 package sesame seeds
1 small package pine nuts

Also, make sure you have these basics on hand in your pantry:
Garlic
Hot paprika
Sea salt
All-purpose flour
Pepper
Unsalted butter
Dijon mustard
Extra-virgin olive oil
Parmigiano reggiano
Red wine vinegar
Bay leaves
