The melamine scare that has sickened thousands of children in China now has the FDA issuing a warning here.
The agency is alerting consumers that Mr. Brown instant coffee and milk tea products are being recalled by the Taiwanese company, King Car Food Industrial Co. Ltd., due to possible contamination with melamine.
The recalled products are:
King Car Food Industrial Co. used a non-dairy creamer manufactured by Shandong Duqing Inc., China, which was found to be contaminated with melamine. The FDA is advising consumers not to ingest the above mentioned products.
According to a press release, the FDA so far has not found milk-based products that were imported to the US from China to be contaminated with melamine. The FDA is working with other nations on this issue, and as a result is also advising consumers not to eat White Rabbit Creamy Candy from China. New Zealand authorities tested the candies and found melamine contamination at high levels.
