Jonathan's Sprouts is recalling several alfalfa sprout products sold at major grocery store chains. Originally announced as a recall only of products marked with the sell-by date of 4/23, the recall has expanded to include all sell-by dates of the following products. Also, the original recall did not include organic sprouts, but the expanded recall does. The alfalfa sprouts may be contaminated with salmonella.
The recalled products include:
The products containing alfalfa sprouts were distributed in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware, and sold at A&P, Grand Union, Stop & Shop, Shaws, Hannaford, Donnelans, Foodmaster, Truccis, Roche Brothers.
Consumers should return the recalled products to the point of purchase and ask for a refund. For additional information, call 508-763-2577.
