The USDA issued an alert regarding 8,784 pounds of hot dog products because they might contain non-fat dry milk and soy, which are not declared on the label, and which are known allergens.

The alert is regarding the following products: 16-ounce packages of Applegate Farms Certified Organic The Great Organic Uncured Hot Dog, and 16-ounce packages of Applegate Farms Certified Organic Stadium Organic Uncured Beef Hot Dogs.

The items were produced at Dietz & Watson, Inc., in Philadelphia.

The USDA says each package also bears the establishment number “Est. 9574” inside the USDA mark of inspection and a use-by or freeze-by date of JAN 15 08. Due to that date, the products would no longer be sold in stores, but could be stocked in consumers' freezers. The hot dog products were produced on Nov. 21, 2007, and were distributed to retail establishments nationwide.

You can find more information on the USDA website.
