When planning Easter dinner, consider preparing a heritage or heirloom variety of livestock. Heritage foods are part of American history, and they come from rare breeds of purebred livestock and crops. Several organizations sell heritage foods on their websites, such as Heritage Foods USA, which also provides information about the farmers who raised the animals and details about the different breeds available. In addition, select local and organic ingredients when possible.
