A new study by an Italian nonprofit research group draws new links between the sugar-substitute aspartame and cancer in rats. The sweetener, sold under the brand name NutraSweet, is found in a variety of diet sodas, candies and other foods and drinks. The study showed a greater risk of cancers, including lymphomas, leukemias and breast cancer, when the animals were exposed in utero, or during early development. For more, click
