Philips Lighting is recalling EnergySaver dimmable reflector lamps, also known as Marathon or Marathon Classic compact fluorescent dimmable reflector lamps, because the glow holding the outer glass envelope can fail, causing the bulb to detach and fall.
Philips has received 700 complaints, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. It is recalling about 1.86 million bulbs.
The recall involves the following model numbers, UPC and date codes. Look for the model numbers on the white ceramic base of each lamp, and look for the UPC codes on the product packaging. Look for date codes stamped into the metal gold base of the lamp, or in the white ceramic area.
