TIGI is well-known in salons for hair products that come in brightly colored packaging and catchy names: think BED HEAD's "Self-Absorbed" multi-vitamin hair conditioning treatment and Rockaholic's "Dirty Secret" dry shampoo. Now the brand has taken a step in the eco-conscious direction with their new line of hair products, cleverly titled "Love Peace and the Planet."
The product line includes:
The bottles and tubes are made from 50% post consumer recycled material. Every product is absent of artificial colors, synthetic fragrance and parabens. Parabens are found in most cosmetic products and act as chemical preservatives, but they're also said to be linked to breast cancer.
Each product contains 71 to 88% organic content in the form of plant and vegetable derivatives that leave hair moisturized while fighting static and humidity.
Other ways to conserve: only use about a quarter-sized blob of shampoo/conditioner to save product and wash your hair every other day to conserve water and energy used from heat styling. Plus, washing every day strips your hair of the necessary nutrients and oils that it needs to stay healthy.
