Sometimes it seems that almost everyone is going green these days, and some of today's hottest musicians are at the front of the pack. Concerts can be expensive, but if you enjoy live music, consider supporting those artists who are making the extra effort to reduce their (often substantial) environmental footprints.
Radiohead's Thom Yorke has been taking the issue of global warming to the fans, while Coldplay innovated by making their CDs carbon neutral. Scottish sensation KT Tunstall tours in buses fueled with biodiesel and lives and records in green buildings.
Other major musicians, from Dave Matthews Band to Jack Johnson, Kanye West and more are playing on solar stages, using alternative fuels, stepping up recycling and reuse and working hard to educate their employees, venues and fans about the importance of good environmental stewardship. There are even green lyrics popping up recently, from Miley Cyrus to full-on tree hugger acts like Cloud Cult.
