Spend the Day with Bill Clinton (It's for a Good Cause)

The second-annual Bid to Save the Earth auction is offering up memorable experiences with A-list celebrities and notables, all for the benefit of environmental organizations. (Don't worry. there's a cheap way to participate, too.)

The second-annual Bid to Save the Earth auction kicked off last week and continues through April 7, 2011. The event is a collaboration of Runway to Green, Charitybuzz and Christie's, and includes an incredible array of unique items and experiences that are available in a virtual auction. The event benefits a number of environmental organizations, including Conservation International, Oceana, NRDC and Central Park Conservancy.

Do you want to spend a day with Bill Clinton? Well, pony up some cash. This is your chance.

Do you crave a backstage presence at a Lady Gaga concert? Bid now or forever hold your peace.

Remember that scene from the first Indiana Jones movie, where the adventurer jumps into a plane to escape the poison darts of an angry tribe? You can relive the moment with Harrison Ford as the pilot in a personal flight around the Los Angeles area (poison darts not included).

Clearly, these experiences won't go to humble bidders, but if you have the cash, it is a unique way to get something pretty, well, awesome in exchange for your charitable donation. If you want to show support without ponying up the big bucks though, you can text "gogreen" to 20222 to donate $10 to the cause. While it may not qualify you for a once-in-a-lifetime experience with a celebrity, it will at least give you the warm feeling of knowing you helped support the organizations working everyday to protect the environment.
