Use Reusable Shopping Bags

The effort to get Americans to use reusable shopping bags has focused on the problems associated with plastic bags, but, remember, paper bags come from trees. Use reusable bags and forget the debate about whether paper or plastic is better.

If you do use paper bags, make every attempt to reuse them. When their useful lives as bags are over, consider using them to cover textbooks, wrap presents or cushion items you're sending by mail.
