I keep seeing advertisements for cloth grocery bags. They are small, pitiful looking things.
Since the early 1990's I've been using a huge canvas bag from L.L. Bean. A week's worth of groceries easily fit into it. The baggers love it because it sits up and is easy to fill. Is L.L. Bean not green enough for you?
Also, I've seen articles about "green" wrapping materials -- newspaper, paper bags and such. What about cloth gift bags? I started doing it about 6 years ago. The caveat is that if the receiver wants a gift next year, I have to have the bag back. I've even started cross-stitching gift tags.
