1. Orient your house to the northeast.
2. Add more openings or windows towards that direction.
3. Let your house breath by putting in a clerestory, ventilator and the like. (Remember, hot air goes up.)
4. Put sunshades on all the openings.
5. Plant shrubs, hedges and trees for shading, which will also help improve air quality.
