My husband insists on leaving ceiling and standing fans on all the time and in every room (we don't have a/c)-- even when nobody is in the room. This includes the bathroom; he's so hot that he has one blowing on him even as he's stepping out of the shower! The fans are also on when we're not even home.
He won't believe me that the fans work by hastening evaporation of perspiration.
He even insists on running fans that pull in air from outdoors during the hottest times of day, and when the sun is beating in that window.
He's incredibly warm all the time, so much so that even 80º feels stifling to him. We keep our thermostat -- for the boiler and radiators -- between 58º and 62º in the wintertime, and he's comfortable (I usually wear extra sweaters, but we do what we can to minimize energy use).
Thanks so much.
