I keep a one-gallon plastic jug in my kitchen sink. Whenever I run the water and am waiting for it to get hot, I run it into this jug.

I then use this water for plants or to rinse dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. I fill it at least once a day, so I'm saving 360 gallons a year!
