The All-Natural, Raw Food-Inspired Skin Cream That Gives Back

Many skincare products promise to reduce wrinkles and to rejuvenate skin, but with all the synthetic ingredients and preservatives used in most lines, they are not a very natural way to beautiful skin.

After spending three years in the jungles of Southeast Asia, the Amazon, and the deserts of Northern Africa, Kimberly Snyder, a raw foodist and beauty expert, founded Envision Beauty and her flagship product, called The Solution. Snyder noticed one unifying factor with women from all around the world is the idea of healthy skin. She says she based her face cream on simplicity and tried to incorporate the best of nature she discovered from indigenous people she met with modern science.

"Raw food is actually the most environmentally friendly way to eat," says Snyder. "You're not using any resources to process the food, so there are no extra containers, no preservatives, no chemicals." The Solution is based on the same concept of raw foodism, but for your skin.

"There are no synthetics not natural to the skin," explains Snyder. "My idea was the skin would assimilate and use the nutrients in the solution the way the body utilizes, digests, and assimilates raw food in the body."

While there are plenty of natural ingredients like goji berries, acai and centella asiatica, Snyder also embraces scientific discoveries like alpha lipoic acid and DMAE. "They're still natural in the fact that our bodies produce them naturally in small quantities, so they're not foreign to the body," she said.

What also makes The Solution unique is the packaging. The airless pump ensures no oxygen will mix with the product until it's pumped out and applied directly to the skin. This means The Solution doesn't need to be preserved with synthetic stabilizers and thickeners like many products with a screw top lid. Snyder's preservative is grapeseed extract, a natural antimicrobial and also a powerful antioxidant.

The Solution is purported to be an all-in-one face cream. "All the active ingredients that a woman, or man, would want from a day cream, night cream, makeup primer, or eye cream, we've put in one bottle," Snyder said. The all-in-one concept is supposed to be good for the environment, as well as convenient. It could mean less time and money spent on various creams and serums, as well as less packaging, less chemicals, and less waste.

After a few days to a week of using The Solution, Snyder says the skin brightens, and after a longer period of time lines and wrinkles are supposed to fade. "Initially, as The Solution starts to open the circulation in the skin, toxins and waste start to leave your skin," Snyder said. According to Snyder, the natural ingredients penetrate the skin, unlike synthetic moisturizers, which she says just sit on the skin and prevent it from breathing.

In addition to providing an all-natural skincare option, Snyder also believes strongly in giving back to the communities that helped her create The Solution. "I was in rural Africa, rural Asia, and rural South America most of the time," she said. "So it was really important for me to create this company as a vehicle for constantly giving back." Ten percent of Envision Beauty's proceeds go to Project Concern International, which helps people around the world through sustainable projects.

While The Solution is Envision Beauty's only product on the market right now, Snyder is working on an all-natural cleanser and other products that will focus on the health benefits of raw food. "I'm a raw foodist, I teach yoga, I meditate a lot," Snyder said. "So these are the concepts I brought into creating our brand and The Solution."
