Wheego LiFe

What is It? The LiFe is, like the Coda, an American car sourced in China. The two-seat Wheego resembles the Smart electric drive, and CEO Mike McQuary's strategy is to take the car to heartland markets that will be otherwise starved of EVs in the early years.

Under the Hood: a 30 kilowatt-hour battery pack connected to a 60-peak-horsepower electric motor.

Range: 100 miles

Performance: It's leisurely. The top speed is 65 mph, which gets it on the highway.

Delivery Date: December 2010, and available nationwide.

Bottom Line: $32,995
