Typhoon Peipah is nearing landfall in Vietnam as a tropical depression, after being downgraded in the past few hours, according to the Joint Typhoon Warning Center.

The storm could still inflict heavy damage on Vietnam, where hundreds of lives have been disrupted or lost in the past month due to severe flooding. This will only be the latest tropical cyclone to make landfall in the waterlogged country.
