Images of the Earth from space have inspired us from the first time satellites captured images of our pale blue marble. The smallness, fragility and beauty of the Earth from space have made space nuts into environmentalists, and reinforced the convictions of those on the ground who fight for the ecological health of the planet.
Today, NASA published this photo of the twilit Earth, captured in June 2001 from the International Space Station.
