The Summer Solstice was Monday, June 21 at 7:28 a.m. (ET), making this the first day of summer. The longest day of the year is here, and with it the official start of summer.

Happy Solstice. And happy summer. Here are a couple ideas for celebrating:

Eat out at one of the restaurants with the best views in the world.

Eat in with these delicious vegetarian grilling recipes... after visiting the farmers' market.

Take a dip in a natural swimming pool.

Get the kids and join a citizen science project.

Plant a wildlife-friendly bird garden.

Whatever you do, don't forget the natural sunscreen.
