Smart Fortwo Steals The Show

Philadelphia International Auto Show Spotlights Green Car

By Dan Shapley

Granted, the Philadelphia International Auto Show is not Detroit, where the elite of the car world gather.

But still, the show's star was not a Hummer or an SUV, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer, but a tiny green car: The Smart Fortwo.

With gasoline hovering near or above $3 in most of the country, and having flirted with $4 not so long ago, the Fortwo is attracting green buyers as well as the merely thrifty. The car gets 33 mpg and costs as little as $11,590. The diminutive two-seater is easy to park, to boot.
