OKK Trading has recalled a line of 2,000 Interchange Robot toys because of excessive levels of lead paint.

The toys, made in China, were sold as four-piece sets with various colored robots each carrying a gun in one hand and a shield in the other. "Interchange Robot" is printed on the outside packaging of the product. They were sold at dollar stores nationwide from October to December 2007 for about $1.

The stores that sold the product should accept them for a refund. For more information, call OKK Trading at (877) 655-8697 between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. PT Monday through Friday or visit the firm's Web site at okktrading.com.

Lead can permanently damage the brains and nervous system of children. Pregnant women and young children, particularly, should avoid exposure to lead. The damage is irreversible and can lead to lowered IQ and learning ability, as well as behavioral problems.
