Robert Redford, the activist and actor, spoke to NRDC's OnEarth magazine about the original Earth Day and why its still important on it's 40th anniversary. In this audio slideshow, Redford discussed working at Yosemite National Park as a teenager and "losing a place that was my home," as he watched the development in Los Angeles in the 1950s. Seeing the photos of Redford that date back to the time of the original Earth Day, his commitment to the environment is clear.
