Public transportation in the United States saves 3.4 billion gallons of oil every year and reduces greenhouse gas emissions by a whopping 26 million tons.
That's enough to reduce daily oil imports 2% -- another reminder that conservation and smart use of our energy is the cheapest and fastest way to reduce demand for foreign oil, and reduce the threat of global warming.
