The Eco-Pig Book: Pork Barrel Spending on Environmental Projects

Millions of dollars are being spent on environmental, energy and agricultural projects. Is it right?

The Citizens Against Government Waste released its 2009 Pork Book today, identifying 10,160 pork barrel Congressional expenditures that together cost $19.6 billion. These projects aren't necessarily unworthy of taxpayer support, but they are inserted into spending bills by members of Congress with little or no debate, and without significant scrutiny on merits.
