Conference on Peak Oil and Global Warming Seeks Answers to Big Problems

The upcoming International Conference on Peak Oil and Climate Change: Paths to Sustainability will attempt to explore the root cause of rising gas prices, global warming, biodiversity loss and other indicators of global trouble.

The conference will be held this May 30 through June 1 at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan and is hosted by Local Future.

Scheduled speakers include leading oil issue writers Richard Heinberg (The Party's Over, PowerDown) and Dr. David Goodstein (Out of Gas), as well as Megan Quinn Bachman, Julian Darley, Stephanie Mills, Pat Murphy and many others (see a more complete list here. The conference will feature in-depth scientific analysis of environmental problems and solutions, and will focus on ways in which individuals, businesses, governments and communities can work toward greater sustainability.
