Office managers and back-to-school shoppers using Shoplet.com now have the option of swapping out their selections for greener alternatives through a simple automated step before paying.

The "Green Your Office Checkout" shopping widget is billed as a first-of-its-kind tool to provide shoppers with an easy way to find alternatives to traditional office supplies.

Here's how shoplet.com describes its new tool:

"While viewing items in their shopping cart, customers can click the 'Green Your Office' icon and will immediately be presented with side-by-side comparisons between products currently in their carts and environmentally friendly alternatives. If shoppers prefer the 'green' alternatives to the traditional items originally selected, they can convert to green with the click of their mouse and proceed with their purchase."

Shoplet.com's new tool accesses its “Shop Green” store-within-a-store, which it says offers one of the largest selections of eco-friendly office products on- and off-line with more than 8,000 environmentally conscious products available.
