Obama Sweeps Weekend Contests

Obama Goes Four for Four, Building Some Momentum

There is still plenty of campaigning to go, but the Democrats in four states endorsed the candidacy of Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton this weekend.

With the Maine results just coming in (the Wall Street Journal called it around 7 p.m.) it looks like Obama added it to a weekend that already included wins in Louisiana, Washington and Nebraska primaries and caucuses.

Obama and Clinton both have aggressive energy plans, and both have vowed to make global warming a priority of their administrations. Like much else on the Democratic side, the choice for green voters comes down, in many ways, to a choice in leadership style and effectiveness.

The Republican contests results this weekend were mixed, with even Mitt Romney (who dropped out of the race last week) claiming a victory. Sen. John McCain is still seen as the untouchable front runner, with Gov. Mike Huckabee still running strong in the South.
