We've never gotten our environmental news from Just Jared, the popular celebrity gossip blog, but there's a first time for everything. When we saw the headline "Nicole Richie Plants Organic Gardens" we had to share it with TDG readers. It seems the organic gardening craze has gone from Pennsylvania Avenue to Sunset Boulevard.
The Environmental Media Association's Young Hollywood Board has started a program to plant gardens in schools in the Los Angeles area. The celebrities involved will each "adopt" a school by helping to plant an organic garden at that school and checking on it throughout the year. Yesterday, Nicole Richie celebrated the launch of the program at Helen Bernstein High School in Hollywood, where she helped with the planting.
Nicole Richie is joined in this program by Rosario Dawson, and Environmental Media Association Board of Director Members actress Amy Smart and singer Lance Bass.
